Day 7: DAILY DEVOTIONAL CHALLENGE

Day 7/7 of "DAILY DEVOTIONAL CHALLENGE" I accepted this challenge  to post a photo of my 'verse of the day' for 7 days and tag at least 2 persons each day to edify and encourage one another in loving and living the Word of God.

The Pattern of Worship

As it says in the verses, our worship is a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. It makes us think of our 'system of worship' existent in our church nowadays,  Usually we start with an upbeat, lively praise song to gather all the believers or ready their hearts. Then we go for an in between song where it transitions from the fast to a more mellow worship song. Then we go to the last song which is much solemn and slower in pace. Here the worship leader starts to exhort.  Did I just describe your pattern of worship in church? Yeah, it might seem common and we must admit that's how it is with us right now, but is it the same as the shadow or copy of the real one in heaven?  Where we are right now in our worship services is not a bad thing but we must all be very careful like what God said in the next line which was spoken by God as a warning and a command at the same time.  “Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you h...

"I Love You"

Isaiah 43:4 Others were given in exchange for you.      I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me.      You are honored, and I love you. Identity... You are loved. Precious. Honored.. God bless You!! Yes? You!! You are Sons and Daughters of God...

"Come!"

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matt.11:28-30  I put this on my wall to be reminded of everything that is needed to be done...and prayed for..But nothing beats the correction from your Devo and leader. Today, I was greatly corrected. I was tired. On the verge of giving up..yes..I was..WAS. But God is always faithful. He never stops following up (di ka nya tatantanan).. I was tired. I never gave myself this week even a day of rest from consoling people. In the end I felt exhausted- mind, body, heart and soul. So while I was doing my Devo, the Bible was like voicing me out: " 2 “Listen closely to what I am saying.       That’s one consolation you can give me.   3 Bear...

Someone's expecting You..

"I have much more to say to you, but I don’t want to do it with paper and ink. For I hope to visit you soon and talk with you face to face. Then our joy will be complete." 2John 1:12 My devotional today. A beautiful reminder to me.. Someone is expectant of me...Someone just can't wait to talk with me face to face...For my Joy and His joy will be complete. What's the other thrilling part? He wrote me many Love letters..It's actually a Book with many verses and even poems of not just His love but it also contains His plans that are greater compared to my human understanding. Have you ever felt that feeling of being expected? When you've been away from home for a long time and someone is expecting for you. That feeling that someone would write a whole book of letters in His expectancy for you and yet, this very letter would not suffice Him. He doesn't want to say it with paper and ink. He wants it PERSONAL. Because your special. To You, who "lov...

“Restless? Be STILL”

See the picture? That’s our University field. It’s so vast for me even I’ve seen it almost my whole life. Growing up inside the campus, growing up seeing all of these for 22 years, I still never get use to these. Masarap mag senti sa mga lugar na ito. Maaliwalas, tahimik at malawak- kasing lawak ng imagination ko. Peace. Lately, I’ve been struggling with peace. Heart. Mind. Body. Soul. Whenever I see this vastness I would dream again. That God would fill this with so many young people that will worship Him, give their lives to Him. And you know what? It excites me. And scares me. It makes me happy. And makes me nervous. Maybe it’s just really part of my personality. As Kabacan Ministry is taking off- Sunday services and open cells, my list of goals and dreams also increases. It’s not a bad thing- having goals are all important so that you would know if we really are progressing. “But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.” Phil3:16. Since all of these are happening,...

I'm Under Construction- His Work has just Begun

"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." Philippians 1:6 Yeah..ito ang Devo ko kaninang umaga. As in maaga. Yung tipong 2 am ng umaga. Today, was the only day of the week na nagising ako ng ganun kaaga. I was talking to my Discipler(Jesus). Habang naguusap ako sakanya, I was asking anu ang Ishashare ko na Word for the Joint Opencell. Then it all came while we were talking- Faith: What, Why, Who we are hoping for.. Pero ang topic ko ay "Under Construction". As in ako. Lately, marami akong pinagdadaanan na "reconstructions". Masakit din sya, corrections and rebukes from God and even from my leaders- di lang nila halata kasi di ako nagpapahalata. Grabe na pala ang nareceive. So, for the past few days, I've been having this. Phil1:6 is not just a Promise to keep but also a Command. The real Work has just begun. Kaya di maghinto, magpatulo...

“Treasure in Fragile Jars”

2 Corinthians 4:6-7 “ For God who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure . This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” I’ve been pondering upon these passages for almost half the day. What does it meant “fragile clay jars containing this great treasure?” Ahhhh..finally I got it!! (Lord it takes long if it’s only me, thanks for the patience!). We are the fragile clay jars. Our bodies are that fragile clay jars the passage was discussing about. And knowing God, seeing the glory of God through Christ, there was this light that ignited in our hearts. Like a great treasure. And then I remembered the parable of the Kingdom of God was likened to a hidden treasure: Mt. 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure h...

"Why should it have to happen?"

"Why?" It's the most common question we ask when something happens, most especially if it's bad. But what if, it's always been bad and suddenly it turns good?   "1 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. 2 “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”  3 “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him." This is my devotional today. Yeah, why is it when something good happens to someone who have been long suffering like the blind man since birth suddenly we ask why he was like that in the first place- " Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”  3 “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,”.. weeew...tsk2x..and we tend to do this don't we? We think..Think and think that the reason people are suffering or what they used to be, whether...

Shut Up!

"Useless!" "Walang Kwenta!" "After 1 year wala ka man lang natulong sa kanila!" "You're nothing!" "Dependent" "Pabigat!" "Di ka man lang mahiya?" Revelation 12: "9 This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels." Lies. All of this are lies from the Enemy I've been hearing whole day. But it took all of my strength until it brought me to tears. Financially, I was not able to contribute to my parents even I was working for almost 1 year... And now, the conference is coming and I could not even contribute a single cent. For the tickets, accommodation and maybe even for our allowance in Manila, it will be provided by my Parents. And the enemy found it as an opening for his lies. "Di ka man lang nahiya?" ...that was the constant lie today. "Mahiya ka naman! Di ka na nga nakakabigay ng pera...

"I'm Ready."

Genesis 37: 12-13 His brothers had gone off to Shechem where they were pasturing their father's flocks. Israel said to Joseph, "Your brothers are with flocks in Shechem. Come, I want to send you to them." Joseph said, "I'm ready." "I'm Ready" ...I was struck by Joseph's response. Joseph had a dream. He dreamed dreams. And Yes, they were "Crazy Dreams". So crazy that his brothers "hated him even more" and "hated him more than ever because of his dreams and the way he talked." Even his father "reprimanded him". ...But Joseph was ready. When his father sent him out to the fields to his brothers, he was going, unknowingly towards his crazy dream. It was the beginning of his Journey to his Crazy Dream. ... But what if Joseph's response was "No", where would he be? - Maybe he would not have ended up on Egypt. - Maybe he did not become Potiphar's assistant. - Maybe if he wasn't temp...

"Double deLIGHT"

" 3 God said, "I command light to shine!" And light started shining. 4 God looked at the light and saw that it was good .... 17 Then God put these lights in the sky to shine on the earth, 18 to rule day and night, and to separate light from darkness. God looked at what he had done, and it was good ." - Genesis 1:3-4, 17-18 => Oct. 18, 2011, Me, Fatima and Grace had a deLIGHTful night spending time. We were on our "Date"- catching up, sharing struggles and encouraging each other and hearing each others testimonies- at long last! It was also the 21st Birthday of Fatima (Happy Birthday Gaw Light Fatz!). We celebrated it at McDo Bajada over a few Mcsaver meals and cake from Red Ribbon (Yum!)... Then it was a night filled with chit chat. => That night I saw grace in each others lives. Grace's testimony- "Power jud si Lord ani!" ..she would keep on saying. And true to her word, God really moved powerfully in her life. "Lord, asa kaha...

"Magpaubos"

" 1 Abram was ninety-nine years old when the LORD appeared to him again and said, "I am God All-Powerful. If you obey me and always do right, 2 I will keep my solemn promise to you and give you more descendants than can be counted." 3 Abram bowed with his face to the ground, and God said: 4-5 I promise that you will be the father of many nations. That's why I now change your name from Abram to Abraham. [ a ] 6 I will give you a lot of descendants, and in the future they will become great nations. Some of them will even be kings. 7 I will always keep the promise I have made to you and your descendants, because I am your God and their God." Genesis 17:1-7 "Magpaubos" or be humbled down. My constant message to me last Sunday and Monday. As I was reading my Devotional, I saw how Abraham responded to God's Promise by kneeling and bowing face down. It's an illustration that when we come to God in prayer, we should come with humility or humbled d...

"Blessing after Blessing"

"10 I am the LORD All-Powerful, and I challenge you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse, so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven and flood you with blessing after blessing." -Malachi 3:10 (Devotional: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011) --- Last Wed, we (Me, Ate Bam and Momi) received an amazing surprise #GodofSurprises. My Sis and mother went to Abreeza mall to kill some time while waiting fro my aunt from Panabo to arrive. While walking and roaming at the mall, they came by the Robinsons Supermarket to watch the demo of the electric stove. My mom and I have been dreaming for this kind of stove for a long, long , long time. I think I was still in highschool when I got into cooking while watching my mother and father. If we could have a dream house, it would probably have a large kitchen.Jajajja..While my mother was watching the demo, she was interviewed by the staff and found out that she's from Kabacan. And you k...
