Just Ask

Have you ever tried holding your breath? Did you last longer than a minute holding it? Which is easier, to hold your breath or not? “ To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing. ” Martin Luther             Prayer is easier to do than not to do for a true follower of Christ. Maybe that’s the reason why Paul urged to ‘Pray without ceasing’ ( 1 Thess. 5:17 ) like breathing. (P.S. We Sin without ceasing so maybe it’s another reason why we really NEED to pray always). Yet, what if prayer is more than a responsibility we think or as a chore or a habit that’s hard to keep? Let’s admit it that from time to time- even most of the time, we can’t keep our prayer times. What if it’s something very special; a key to a greater place or event in our relationship with God? In Jeremiah 33:3 , God spoke to Jeremiah about ‘ great and mighty things’ which he did not know about that God would be willing to share. There was something that Jer

Call to be Fathers (and Mothers too)

Photo from Google "We are orphaned and fatherless.      Our mothers are widowed." Lamentations 5:3 (NLT) I love listening to sermon podcast. It's usually a good source of fresh Word. Currently I'm listening to podcast's from Paul Manwaring entitled 'Fathering People' (if you want to check it out, here's the link to that sermon:  http://podcasts.ibethel.org/en/podcasts/fathering-people ).  Today as I was reading through my daily devotional, this verse struck me. It confirms what I've been listening in the podcast how we live in a world that is orphaned, fatherless and motherless. But how Jesus spoke of a promise that He won't leave us orphans (John 14:18) and sent the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15) that turns our being orphans into true sons and daughters of God who later become and grow into Fathers and Mothers. Then He gave us the great commission (Matt. 28:19-20) to go and make disciples- to Father and mother people who

Blogging again!

I miss blogging! So after nights of sipping on my coffee and thinking (and also looking at the stack of paper of all my preaching notes) I've decided to blog them. :D Since becoming a pastor 3 years ago, I would prepare for my sermons or preaching every week. It doesn't include the time I would also prepare for my G12 cell group with my core leaders and opencell life groups we conduct. I also have notes for every class I conduct on our Post-encounter, School of Leaders 1 and 2. So yes, if material is the question, no doubt I have plenty of those. Then I also though of what I am passionate about. It was always been this- reading, writing and speaking. It's also a way to keep my leaders updated of all that's happening to the church here in Kabacan; where the Spirit of God is leading us and what are some of the issues that needs to be addressed as it also resonates in the emphasis of each preaching I share. If you happen to read one of my blog posts feel free to co
