Did You Eat Yet? #KumainKaNaBa? My Mother's Day Post

Mother's day just went by like any other day in our house. I don't even try to post a message to my mom in the internet since she doesn't look at her Facebook account anymore (We made an account for her but she doesn't manage it- we do).  But our church decided to have a Mother's day lunch this Sunday after our Worship service. A small gathering and a few tokens will be given to them to honor them. I was also looking for videos in the YouTube to show on the celebration. Then I came across one of the short films of  Wong Fu Productions titled, " What Asian Parents Don't Say.. ." I was actually laughing at the video because I can really relate to almost all of them. I think the video of Wong Fu really was on point because most Asians have a hard time expressing themselves. Then there was this part that tugged my heartstrings. It made me think. What are other things my parents say but they don’t really say? Growing up, I alrea

Bring them back to Repentance? IMPOSSIBLE

This message in Hebrews 6:4 to 6, can be a warning to 3 people: Those who ‘turned away from God”; Those who have not ‘turned away from God and; Those who know people who “turned from God”.   It stands as a warning to us.  Have we heard God’s voice and trembled? I don’t mean fear that keeps us from coming to God, but the kind of fear that is spoken in Proverbs as “the foundation of wisdom.” We fondly pray that God would speak to us and hear His voice but do we really know what we are praying? It reminded me of the Israelites who were at the foot of Mount Sinai. When they heard God’s thunderous voice, they did not dare come nearer and asked Moses to speak in their behalf (Deuteronomy 5:23-27). To quote Francis Chan, “When you pick up your Bible, you are actually holding something better than a voice coming out of a cloud on the top of a mountain.” So this warning must really create a Holy fear in us that will keep us from turning away from God. It also give

First of All: We PRAY

We've been having a series in the church for weeks now about prayer. Prayer seems to be a subject that doesn't run out of the Bible. It comes natural to followers of Jesus since Prayer for us is like breathing in our spiritual body; the moment we cease to pray, we also stop breathing. As Paul puts it in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing." We've been going through the "Lord's Prayer" and studied the first part (Matthew 6:9) where Jesus says,  “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,".   Here, God tells us to approach Him in a personal way, our faith reflective and similar to a child approaching his or her Father (I'll be posting the sermon series in a few days for this topic). So this post calls out to the Sons and Daughters of God. Why am I writing this? This election season just closed and as i have observed, this has been one of the most hyped up and anticipated elections the l

The Pattern of Worship

As it says in the verses, our worship is a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. It makes us think of our 'system of worship' existent in our church nowadays,  Usually we start with an upbeat, lively praise song to gather all the believers or ready their hearts. Then we go for an in between song where it transitions from the fast to a more mellow worship song. Then we go to the last song which is much solemn and slower in pace. Here the worship leader starts to exhort.  Did I just describe your pattern of worship in church? Yeah, it might seem common and we must admit that's how it is with us right now, but is it the same as the shadow or copy of the real one in heaven?  Where we are right now in our worship services is not a bad thing but we must all be very careful like what God said in the next line which was spoken by God as a warning and a command at the same time.  “Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on

Summer Tips: Finding the Right Keys for a Budding Mozart

Every Parents Dream Every parent dreams for their children to be the next music virtuoso. Upon discovering their love for music as soon as they could hold a tune, parents would look for instruments and sign them up with music lessons. Dreaming for a Chopin and Beethoven For some, they want their little ones to be the next Beethoven and dream of them performing midnight sonatas in their Electronic Piano Keyboard. This is more optional since it is lightweight and doesn’t take up a lot of space compared to a grand upright. Before you start day dreaming, here are a few tips in choosing your child’s first instrument. Make it Full Size Make sure that the Electronic Piano Keyboard is as long as an acoustic one that has 7 octaves and 88 keys. It would replicate the feel of a real one and practice his or her little fingers the correct spacing. It will be easier to adjust in the future when they are going to play elsewhere. Synth or not to Synth If it’s ju

In the midst of all this clamor as May 9 is fast approaching, one thing is certain: The Son of God, Jesus is King over all! #psalm127v1to2  "Unless the Lord builds a house,  the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city,  guarding it with sentries will do no good.  It is useless for you to work so hard  from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat;  for God gives rest to his loved ones." #ilovetheSon #sunsets #halalan2016 #antipastrip #roadtripdiaries #nofilter
