"You Will Never Be The Same Again" Moments

Tonight like any other night when sleep is not so good to me, my mind is very much active despite my tired body. To distract myself, I usually make a 'to do list' in my head (which I write after so I won't forget) for the next following weeks. Next week, BCC Kabacan  will be celebrating our 6th year Anniversary. So it will be a busy week.  I was already thinking of the Praise and Worship line-up, the Children's ministry then a family requested for dedication of their children. It means I have to set up the counselling with the parents together with my parents. As I dwell on this all, I kept on thinking back to 2011 when this Satellite ministry was just a house church and I was not even so accepting of the responsibility as a Pastor. But each year was a different story. It was like I aged or matured each passing year to the point that the difference is so stark- just looking back this January 2017, I was a completely different person. How so? As ...

How to Hold on

I've been listening to the same song over and over again for the past few hours. It's been reminding me to hold on. ONE OF 'THOSE' DAYS You know, everyone of us gets one of 'those' days.  The kind of day when you wake up, a part of you wish you could sleep more or not wake up at all. The kind of day when you've lost your appetite or nothing seems to satisfy anymore. The kind of day when you just want to stay inside your room and be alone but at the same time you feel so afraid to be alone. The kind of day you wish you were somewhere else or somebody else. When you feel more lost than found.  Trying to put that brave face on so many times that you kind of forget how are you really.  A part of me doesn't like one of those days but we all get them. WHAT DO WE DO TO HOLD ON THERE? Pray.  No one can really help you but God. No one even yourself can really comfort you.  You can call or text someone and even talk...

Lights Shine Brighter and Brightest

When is the time when a light shines brighter and brightest? In times and places of Darkness. As I pray for my girls, my beautiful disciples, they are lights Lord. Why? Coz many of them come from the darkest of times and places. From brokeness of family, death of loved ones and even abuse and abandonment. They rose from ashes to beauty. And I get to see it all personally. I get the opportunity to love people like them. The privilege of seeing them shine. Thank you Lord! Life becomes brighter than it ever be as I pray and love them in this lifetime. New Living Translation Daniel 12:3 "Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever."

Reasons and Revelations

Tuesday night. It only means one thing in our household: Family Devotional.  We usually start with a short opening prayer and then we read the Proverbs for the day. Since its the 25th of July, we read Proverbs 25. No matter the different and varying Bible translations of everyone in our house, we read the Proverbs out loud while taking turns.  My mother always reads first and she always reads two verses when its her turn. Why? She reads one for my father's turn. My mom can still read well despite her old age and dimming eyesight. But for my father, its already a blurry one. My mom reads and my father explains and expounds the verse. That's how they always do their devotional. It's always endearing to witness because its how they minister with the Power of One.  Tonight, as we take turns sharing what specific verse hit home and our personal message of the day, it was clear that God's emphasis for us from today's proverbs would be trusting God beyond our need to...

Why we should Obey our parents

We've probably heard and even memorized this particular verse especially when you grew up with Sunday school. But the many times I have read it, I have not fully understood why children muat obey their parents. Some would reason out that some parents are not worthy of obedience. Maybe thats the reason why this verses where written to teach us why. Let's read the verse again: New Living Translation Ephesians 6:1-3 Children and Parents Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.” Read and understand. God's word not only teaches us about Jesus and salvation, but also gives us guidelines to live truly a christian life. And the best way to test your christianity is at home. Here, the writer which was Paul giving the Ephesian churc...

Kung Pagod ka, Magpahinga!

Para sa mga mahilig magsabi ng "MAGPAHINGA MUNA AKO FROM MINISTRY": Realized something today: kung mapagod at mapapagod ka talaga in life, magserve ka man o hindi, the best way to relax and "MAGPAHINGA"..ay hindi yung lumayo at huminto sa pagchurch service at di magpakita sa leaders mo. Its the opposite of it all. Our family na akala ng karamihan ay pagsunday lang nagseserve but in reality everyday. We surrendered to God our privacy in all aspects as we obeyed God and opened not just our home but also our lives through the ministry to loving Him and loving people. And yes, its not easy. May mga araw na we would crave also to rest. MAGPAHINGA. Yet we spent time to rest sa davao. We didnt sleep in an amazing hotel. We didn't eat at the most expensive restaurants... Instead we just spent more time with our leaders just talking with them and Listened to our pastors. We didn't go shopping. Instead, we focused on having each other. I think we just got all ...

Looking at the Promise

You passed by and i saw what God promised me for so long. Like the Israelites and Moses, the Promised Land they have longed for forty years. As for me, 40 days (multiplied to the many times i prayed and fasted for you). You were the one described in 1 Corinthians 2:9 as the one my 'eyes have never seen, my ears have never heard and my mind have never imagined' as i continue to love Jesus. But am i like Moses? Doomed to just look at the Promised land on Pisgah peak but never to cross the Jordan? After the long and winding journey, many wanderings and years of waiting-will i ever get to cross to the other side? Or will i just look at You my Promise and be content with 'should-have-been-mine' notion for the rest of my life?
