Don't Miss The Call!

Reflecting on Jonah 1
As i read Jonah 1, God revealed to me many things such as:
+The Call: everyone of us are called.
And most of the time our calling is not just bout us-its for the benefit of others.
Like Jonah, he was called to testify to Nineveh to save the people. Same with us. When God calls us, He calls us to Him for others. Loving God and Loving people.
Remember: pagtinawag kani Lord di lang para saiyo mas lalong para sa iba.

+The Choice: the Call also comes with the Choice.
When God calls we are given a choice to run towards Him and God's calling or to run away from Him and his call.
Remember: when you say No to God, you say No to the Call. When you say Yes to Him, you also say Yes to the call. Simple. God NEVER forces Himself to us. But the call and the choice comes with...

+The Consequence: whichever we choose, we pay a price.
If we say no, we pay the high price of running away from God.
When we say yes, we also pay the high price of the call.

Price of saying No:
Its more costly to say No to God's Call than to say Yes.
Picture? Jonah bought a ticket to Tarshish. Many of us try to 'buy' our way out of God's call. We do this and we do that.
We achieve and buy things...To defean God's call with applause and busyness.
We harden our hearts as we step farther and farther away from Him.
Its as if we could escape Him. We live our lives on our own. But when we thought we already escaped God, a storm comes.

Say No to God and live this life like Jonah did with a storm. No peace. For you and others. Jonah might have been sleeping soundly when the storm was raging on the boat, but thats it! Its a life in a sinking ship! Thats the picture of a person who is running away from God. And so are the people with him. Our call comes with a high price. It includes the people around us. We think that if we say no to God, its just gonna be us. No! It will affect our family, our circle.
Why?
Cause your call was not just for you-it was for the people you would impact. Say no to the call, you impact them negatively. That could be the case as when we run away from the Lord. Our personal make believe peace but a stormy life for others.

Maybe the storms in your life is a wake up call you are running away from God and His call? Wake up! Every choice has a consequence!

Both have prices to pay, so choose what you are willing to pay in this short lifetime. They may be both high prices but their eternal consequences are not the same.

But as we surrender, as Jonah did, also the true calm and peace follows. The more we resist His call, the more the peace won't cone.

As you get older, possessions, promotion and people's approval does not seem so heavy anymore. But peace does. Especially peace with God.

Kahit mawala na sa iyo ang lahat-sino o ano nalang ang natira?
Yung peace na di makukuha sa Mundo at mananakaw ng iba. Kaya pala sa lapida-'rest in Peace'.

The Cause is worth the Cost
Make sure that the Cause you pay is worth the cost! Cause i've seen people until now they are Paying the high price of their choices. The cost you pay for following Jesus will always be worth it.
Always.
Its for now and eternity.
Its not just th calm and the peace. Its bigger than this life. Its a preparation for eternity. What we do in this short life determines how we live and where we go in eternity.

Kaya nga its worth it! If it might seem na Jonah lost his life for finally saying yes to the call, ganyan naman talaga lagi kay Lord! Akala mo mawawala sa iyo lahat! But the truth is, we gain more than what we lose. For we gain Jesus. He is everything. He is more than enough. What do i have if i don't have Jesus?

As we say yes to Him, we say no to self and yes to dying like Jonah. But it opens us to...

+The Chance: kay Lord may many chances. Don't waste it. Like Jonah, God sent a big fish to swallow him. Yout 2nd chance might not be as comfortable like Jonah in the belly, but its a time God is humbling you.

Blogging again!

I miss blogging! So after nights of sipping on my coffee and thinking (and also looking at the stack of paper of all my preaching notes) I've decided to blog them. :D Since becoming a pastor 3 years ago, I would prepare for my sermons or preaching every week. It doesn't include the time I would also prepare for my G12 cell group with my core leaders and opencell life groups we conduct. I also have notes for every class I conduct on our Post-encounter, School of Leaders 1 and 2. So yes, if material is the question, no doubt I have plenty of those. Then I also though of what I am passionate about. It was always been this- reading, writing and speaking. It's also a way to keep my leaders updated of all that's happening to the church here in Kabacan; where the Spirit of God is leading us and what are some of the issues that needs to be addressed as it also resonates in the emphasis of each preaching I share. If you happen to read one of my blog posts feel free to co...

Bring them back to Repentance? IMPOSSIBLE

This message in Hebrews 6:4 to 6, can be a warning to 3 people: Those who ‘turned away from God”; Those who have not ‘turned away from God and; Those who know people who “turned from God”.   It stands as a warning to us.  Have we heard God’s voice and trembled? I don’t mean fear that keeps us from coming to God, but the kind of fear that is spoken in Proverbs as “the foundation of wisdom.” We fondly pray that God would speak to us and hear His voice but do we really know what we are praying? It reminded me of the Israelites who were at the foot of Mount Sinai. When they heard God’s thunderous voice, they did not dare come nearer and asked Moses to speak in their behalf (Deuteronomy 5:23-27). To quote Francis Chan, “When you pick up your Bible, you are actually holding something better than a voice coming out of a cloud on the top of a mountain.” So this warning must really create a Holy fear in us that will keep us from turning away from God. It ...

“Restless? Be STILL”

See the picture? That’s our University field. It’s so vast for me even I’ve seen it almost my whole life. Growing up inside the campus, growing up seeing all of these for 22 years, I still never get use to these. Masarap mag senti sa mga lugar na ito. Maaliwalas, tahimik at malawak- kasing lawak ng imagination ko. Peace. Lately, I’ve been struggling with peace. Heart. Mind. Body. Soul. Whenever I see this vastness I would dream again. That God would fill this with so many young people that will worship Him, give their lives to Him. And you know what? It excites me. And scares me. It makes me happy. And makes me nervous. Maybe it’s just really part of my personality. As Kabacan Ministry is taking off- Sunday services and open cells, my list of goals and dreams also increases. It’s not a bad thing- having goals are all important so that you would know if we really are progressing. “But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.” Phil3:16. Since all of these are happening,...
