Health is not always wealth in God's Kingdom

Matthew 9:12-13  But when Jesus heard this, He said, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but [only] those who are sick. Go and learn what this [Scripture] means: ‘I desire compassion [for those in distress], and not [animal] sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call [to repentance] the [self-proclaimed] righteous [who see no need to change], but sinners [those who recognize their sin and actively seek forgiveness].” Health is not at all wealth in God's Kingdom. Not in this case. When Jesus came to earth and dwelled among us it was not for those who are self-proclaimed righteous- those who are healthy in the body but really deteriorating inside out with their sins. Those who cover it with make up and fine clothes the spiritual sores of addiction and sins and does not see the need to change. Jesus came for those who are sinners, those who felt the sickness of their sins and 'admitted' themselves to Jesus their need of a spiritual healer. Those who recogni...

Undeniably Peter

John 18:17,25-27  The woman asked Peter, “You’re not one of that man’s disciples, are you?” “No,” he said, “I am not.” Peter’s Second and Third Denials Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again, “You’re not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, saying, “No, I am not.” But one of the household slaves of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Didn’t I see you out there in the olive grove with Jesus?” Again Peter denied it. And immediately a rooster crowed. After 3 years of being Jesus disciple and after all the miracles Peter denied Jesus. Why was it so easy? Because its easy. The world offers easy. And in moments of easness, its also easy to ask the question like what was asked to Peter: 'di ba disciple ka ni Jesus??' We could deny him aside with our lips. We could deny him with our actions (it speaks louder than our words). So to condemn Peter is not right. After all aren't...
#thoughts #hugot #whogot

Love is Patient

Love is patient It is not bound by time. Never limited by seconds, minutes and hours. Time does not alter love for it is not an emotion or feelings that simply fade. But instead a decision made. Love does not decrease in passion over time instead it grows stronger and stronger, more potent each passing days, months and years. Like wine (or stinky cheese) it gets sweeter (or stronger? ;- ) in time. So love learns to wait. It thrills in the waiting season, confident in every turning that it will remain the same. Love grows in the shade of time, does not diminish its luster but all the more grows brighter. For real love unlike photographs does not fade. Real love unlike the waves easily swayed. Love remains. It is enduring. Like a rock among the crashing waves, it is immovable. The only way that love be tested in its patience is in the waiting. How it waits. What it does as it waits. For patience is not how long you wait but how you behaved in the waiting. For we might...

Love is Giving

Yesterday during our first youth reload for the month of February, i was the one who made the offering challenge. i asked the room of 70 plus students about tjeir first love. I got giggles and laughs. Whenever that topic pops they all get kilig. Then i asked them, 'what was the very first thing you learned when you liked or loved someone for the first time?' It got interesting...and at the same time saddening. My heart broke. Almost all of them answered negatively or they got hurt or not to trust someone so much. so i answered them with these: 'When you first liked or love someone, the very first thing you learned is giving. Because that feeling in your heart was so intense, overflowing and bursting you just don't know how to contain it how much more express it to that person you love. So give that person something- time, energy, words, things, etc. The first thing i learned in love is giving." Last night was only an offering challenge. I shared Luke 7:45 to 47...

Psalm 38

Psalm 38 A psalm of David, asking God to remember him. 1  O  Lord , don’t rebuke me in your anger      or discipline me in your rage! 2  Your arrows have struck deep,      and your blows are crushing me. 3  Because of your anger, my whole body is sick;      my health is broken because of my sins. 4  My guilt overwhelms me—      it is a burden too heavy to bear. 5  My wounds fester and stink      because of my foolish sins. 6  I am bent over and racked with pain.      All day long I walk around filled with grief. 7  A raging fever burns within me,      and my health is broken. 8  I am exhausted and completely crushed.      My groans come from an anguished heart. 9  You know what I long for, Lord;      you hear my every sigh. 10  My heart beats wil...

Hold on until the Morning

It might feel like the night is longer as it seems and though it is morning all you see is darkness.  The night feels longer- a day, a week, months and even years.  The weeping might seem deeper and overwhelming.  But hold on until the morning and joy will surely come.  Hold on there.
